Tokyo Rainbow English Speaking Society (TRESS)
TRESS is an English conversation gathering for gay men. At each TRESS meeting, held on a Sunday evening every three months (February, May, August and November) in Shinjuku, a timely and exciting theme will be discussed freely.

45th MTG, Sun., Aug 16th, 2026 (Full & Applications Closed)
Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Venue: A conference room in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Details will be provided to participants only.
Procedure: The first 30 minutes of the meeting will be devoted to participant introductions. Please introduce yourself and tell us about the most dangerous experience you've ever had.
For the remaining 60 minutes, we'll discuss the following question:
"How important do you think social media is for building and maintaining relationships within the gay community? What do you keep in mind when using it?"
The number of applicants to be admitted: Six Applications have been closed as capacity has been reached. Thank you!
Eligibility: To participate, you must meet the following criteria:
* Identify as a gay man (regardless of age or nationality)
Prohibited Conduct: Anyone found in violation of the following guidelines will be asked to leave immediately and may be barred from future gatherings:
* Misrepresenting your sexual orientation (e.g., falsely claiming to be gay)
* Attending while experiencing cold-like symptoms, such as elevated body temperature, persistent sneezing or coughing, or general fatigue
* Disclosing personal information about other participants without consent
* Cancelling without prior notice (except in cases of force majeure)
* Engaging in aggressive or persistent sales, solicitation, or pick-up behavior
* Dismissing, belittling, or invalidating others’ viewpoints
* Making unsolicited comments about another participant’s appearance (e.g., weight, age, clothing choices)
* Recording or filming during the event
Even if a participant’s behavior does not fall under the above violations, if it is deemed to compromise the safety, comfort, or atmosphere of the event, the organizer reserves the right to refuse future participation at the organizer’s discretion. (Please note that the organizer does not provide individual explanations regarding such decisions.)

Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Venue: A conference room in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Details will be provided to participants only.
Procedure: The first half of the meeting (approx. 30 mins) will consist of each participant's self-introduction.
The second half (approx. 60 mins) will be spent on a word-guessing game using drawings. One participant will be given an English word, and will draw a picture of it on a whiteboard. The other participants will look at the drawing and try to guess what the word is.

* Demonstrate respect for differing perspectives and opinions
Prohibited Conduct: Anyone found in violation of the following guidelines will be asked to leave immediately and may be barred from future gatherings:
* Misrepresenting your sexual orientation (e.g., falsely claiming to be gay)
* Attending while experiencing cold-like symptoms, such as elevated body temperature, persistent sneezing or coughing, or general fatigue

The number of applicants to be admitted:
Eligibility: To apply, you must meet the following criteria.
* Being a gay man (of any age or nationality)
* Being respectful of different opinions
Prohibitions: If you are found to be in breach of any of the following, you will be asked to leave immediately and will not be allowed to attend the future meetings.
* If you lie about being gay
* If you are in the midst of cold-like symptoms, such as a body temperature above normal, sneezing or coughing continuously, or a sluggish body
* If you reveal the privacy of the participants
* If you cancel without prior notice (except in cases of force majeure)
* In the event of pushy and persistent sales activities, solicitation or pick-up, etc.
* If you are quick to dismiss or belittle opinions different from your own
* If you comment on the appearance of other participants, such as weight gain, aging, strange clothing, etc.
* If you are recording or filming

The number of applicants to be admitted: Six
Eligibility: To apply, you must meet the following criteria.
* Being a gay man (of any age or nationality)
* Being respectful of different opinions
* Having a normal body temperature
Prohibitions: If you are found to be in breach of any of the following, you will be asked to leave immediately and will not be allowed to attend the future meetings.
* If you lie about being gay
* If you are in the midst of cold-like symptoms, such as a body temperature above normal, sneezing or coughing continuously, or a sluggish body
* If you reveal the privacy of the participants
